The department's MEC Collen Maine said the department and the police are working around the clock to ensure the safety of residents in this community.
"Some departmental and police officials have been deployed in key strategic areas to ensure that the essential services continue uninterrupted and that no life-threatening situations erupt," the MEC said.
He urged community members to remain calm as the situation is being monitored day and night.
"If community members suspect anything or want to report any misdemeanours, they can contact the call centre on 018-388-3888," Maine said.
