NWU Career Centre: Save these dates
The centre will be hosting four virtual career fairs in March 2021.
On 9 March the Accounting Virtual Fair will kick off, followed by the General Virtual Fair on 11 March, the Law Virtual Fair on the 19th, and finally the Science and Engineering Virtual Fairs on 26 March.
With approximately 600,000 people losing their jobs during the Covid-19 lockdown, the upcoming virtual career fairs are aimed at exposing students and graduates to potential employers and exciting job opportunities. It also aims to give organisations the opportunity to engage with students.
Students are encouraged to attend as organisations will share their internships and part-time work opportunities as well as graduate and vacation work programmes.
Interested students can follow the NWU Career Centre on Facebook for updates.
Value for your money
The NWU is also calling on companies from all sectors to sign up and exhibit at the various virtual career fairs.
According to Hloni Putsoane, employer engagement consultant at the Career Centre, these virtual fairs are ideal and will allow companies to save on expenditures, since there will be no travelling and accommodation costs.
“By choosing from various available templates companies will be able to design their own virtual exhibition booths which also allow them to apply their branding,” adds Hloni.
“Furthermore, our online platform’s live chat functionality allows up to 10 company representatives to simultaneously connect with students from anywhere in the country.”
For more information on how companies can participate in the virtual career fairs, please contact Hloni by sending an email to az.ca.uwn@enaostup.inolh or phoning 076 191 4600. Companies can also register here.
