2019 High School Jam winners
The winners of the 9th annual High School Jam were announced on Saturday, 17 August, following a full day's show at the Grand Arena, GrandWest where more than 1,200 teenagers from 10 schools took part, with over 5,000 fans filling the audience to cheer on their schools.
Winners of the 2019 High School Jam, Elsie’s River High School
Elsies River High School was crowned as the overall winners and walked away with R50,000, sponsored by GrandWest, a Yamaha Stage Pass System from Yamaha and Mars Music, and an Outside Broadcast from KFM at a school event of their choice.
The Spirit Award of R20,000 from Club X Magazine for the school with the most “Gees” was won by West End Junior High – newcomers to High School Jam, who were in attendance at High School Jam for just under 12 hours.
The Most Outstanding Newcomer Award was won by Parow High who won R10,000 from The Events Collaborative.
The high school music competition is an Inspired Stages Trust initiative, created by GrandWest to further music and arts in the local community.
