Van der Walt was recognised by CEO Global at the Most Influential Women in Business and Government Awards in Midrand. Before being named continental winner, earlier this year Van der Walt was named a regional winner in this celebration of Africa's most influential people, adding her name to an impressive list of prominent women advancing African economies.

With over 20 years' experience in the property industry, Van der Walt has also served in several industry leading positions, including president of the South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA), and president of the South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC).

World-class properties

"Africa is growing a world-class property sector that is increasingly respected and exciting. It is an honour to be part of a sector that is driving the development of industrial, business, retail and social infrastructure across the continent. I am thrilled and humbled by this award and remain committed to making a positive impact in building the African continent. With Excellerate's growing African footprint, we'll continue to set the pace for property service excellence in Africa," Van der Walt comments.

Founded in South Africa, Excellerate is represented in 11 countries across the African continent, where it delivers tailored solutions and services to local and regional markets, at a world-class standard.

"The many remarkable people who are honoured in these awards are a tribute to the pivotal role that women play in the economy and society," says Van der Walt.
