Did you know that there are women that have helped to shape the face of motorsport as we know it? So, in the spirit of International Women's Day celebrating the achievements of women in culture, politics, and socioeconomics, here are five female pioneers in motorsport.

While these five female pioneers in motorsport are not the only women in motorsport, they were some of the first women to enter a sport dominated by men.

Although not all of them took the gold, they lay the foundation for those who would come after them.
