John Connor's back in Terminator Salvation

Terminator fans, it's that time of the century again, when man and machine go to war. Skynet's trying to eliminate all of humanity sending out terminators at the slightest hint of life to seek and destroy. John Connor (Christian Bale) remains elusive to the AI, now running the planet, and he's leading the resistance that await his command to take out the enemy.
John Connor's back in Terminator Salvation

Whether you're a Terminator fan or not, it still remains one of the must-see movies for the 2009. Look out for a new protagonist thrown into the mix, Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), the cyborg (those of you observant enough will notice this way before the slower folk). He, however, refuses to believe that he is more hardware than human. Connor, under the guidance of his deceased mother, Sarah Connor, distrusts Marcus, and with good reason. He does however, eventually put his trust into Marcus to help him into Skynet's HQ. Will Marcus be overcome by the the machine in him or will his character grow into the coat he insists on wearing? You'll have to see for yourself.

Terminator Salvation is a good movie; it's got the action-packed, raw machine scenes that we've come to expect from the series as well as the crafty agility and strength of the tiny humans against the, at times, enormous machines. Some people actually think all this is rather far-fetched and impossible, but let's think about this for a second: At the moment, we have in San Francisco, scientists who invented a robot that can mix 150 different drinks and add up the bar tab, a dancing robot in Japan, that can follow a human dancer's lead through hand pressure applied to its back, an Austrian robot - who's been named Freddy by the way - who can tattoo. Freddy's computerised "brain" is programmed with artistic outlines and chooses the tattoo for you, a robot - called Rich - in Atlantic City, New Jersey, who can mingle with guests and deliver room service meals. (Ripley's Believe It or Not: Curioddities, 2007) Is it really that far fetched? I think not.

Sci-fi and action fans alike will appreciate this movie, and if you've been following this series since you were a kid, like me and you're dying to find out what happens in the end-end, then make your way to the cinema soon. Terminator: Salvation releases this Friday, 5 June 2009. And if you've seen a pirate copy already, then shame on you!

By the by, Arno makes a guest appearance ;-)
