Sportscene announces full 2019 Capsule Fest lineup
This year’s lineup will feature some of the new wave local acts alongside Atlanta native UNO The Activist. SA hiphop royalty Riky Rick, Nadia Nakai and KO will headline the main stage alongside Yanga Chief and A-Reece, to name a few. Also confirmed are leaders of the news school Dee Koala, The Big Hash, Willy Cardiac, Uncle Vinny, J Molley, Uncle Partytime, Khumz Taylor and more.

Now in its third year, Capsule Fest is an urban street culture festival that celebrates, collaborates and elevates all elements of culture.
The festival will offer
- 14 independent fashion brands via brand exhibitions
- Sneaker activations with various global brands including Vans, Nike, Adidas, Kappa, Champion, Converse, Dickies, Sneaker King and New Era
- Skating park featuring a curated skating experience with DJ Speedsta
- Basketball
- Various music talks
- Concert
Due to the popularity of the music talks last year, an expanded talks component will be added this year. In partnership with Capitec’s Live Better Talks, these will feature over 44 speakers, eight sessions and dedicated short-film screenings.

“Capsule is a street culture festival like no other in the country. It’s so much more than just a music festival. It encompasses everything that is the culture related,” says Sportscene's brand manager Lulama Mnisi.
“Now in its third year, we have added elements to keep in tune with the culture and what they want.”
