Rudimental and Crystal Fighters to play at Vodacom In The City

Vodacom In The City will be back in the Joburg city centre, at Mary Fitzgerald Square, Newtown, on Friday, 3 October, 2014, and Rudimental and Crystal Fighters are the first two international acts to be announced.

Multi-award winning act Rudimental (including a 2014 Brit Award) is a pioneering melting-pot collective who have taken the British music scene by storm with their debut album, "Home", being released at number one in the UK charts. Championed for their uncompromising approach to music-making, their huge drum-and-bass-meets-soul anthem and number one single Feel The Love helped them achieve international recognition. Mixing live instrumentation with digital programming creates the band's organic sound: "It's the result of years of raving, listening to pirate radio, listening to dubs, to tapes older brothers would bring home, and being inspired by all of it," said the band's Piers Aggett. \

Rudimental and Crystal Fighters to play at Vodacom In The City

British alternative dance band Crystal Fighters are well-known for their energetic and engaging live performances. Calling their sound a mixture of folk, electro, punk, techno, dubstep and Spanish pop, the band's debut album, "Star of Love", was released in October 2010. Their second album, "Cave Rave", was released in May 2013 and has a number of hits such as LA Calling and You & I playlisted across South Africa's radio stations.

These are the first two of an international line-up that fits Vodacom In The City's mix of high energy, electronic, indie and rock.
