Dance spectacular at uShaka Marine World

Under African Skies is a musical song and dance spectacle that will be staged at uShaka Marine World, Durban during the FIFA World Cup. It will give visitors an introduction to the Zulu Kingdom and remind locals of our cultural treasure.
Dance spectacular at uShaka Marine World

Although a great musical line-up will have the haunting sound of Africa resonate through Durban's beautiful winter evenings, the stars will undoubtedly be its enchanting SeaWorld dolphin diving diva's Affrika, Tombi, Khanya and Zulu and salt-water showmen Kelpie, Jula, Khwezi and Ingelosi. However, the stage entrance belongs to Gambit, the largest bottlenose dolphin in any oceanarium in the world.

"Africa is about sound and movement - in sadness we sing, in happiness we sing, in celebration we sing and dance. Our dolphins also have African Spirit. Dance dolphins, dance to celebrate 2010, dance for love, dance for peace, dance for Africa, dance for the world!" This quote best epitomises
this amazing production.

The thunder of drumming

Expect the thunder of drumming, isigekle women ululating, the unforgettable harmonies of accapella music and stomping of rubber boots. The show features songs from Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the music of the swinging 50s and the unforgettable Sophia Town as well as more modern classics from Ipi Thombi, Mango Groove, Johny Clegg and more.

Shows, which begin at 5pm and are R60 per person, are scheduled for 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, 23, 24, 26 and 27 June as well as 5 and 6 July.

Tickets are available at Computicket or uShaka Ticketing Office. Call +27 (0)31 328 8000 for more information.
