Forester is Mom's Taxi of the Year
“The Subaru name has come all the way from podium position in the rally fields to become the first choice of women in our country to transport their most precious cargo - their families,” said Subaru SA managing director Teresita van Gaalen.
Subaru recently launched the latest version of the Japanese marque's hugely successful Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive Forester to wide acclaim from both motoring journalists and the public.
“Not for nothing is the Forester known as ‘the car for all reasons',” said Van Gaalen. “It is a truly remarkable vehicle by any standards and its proven reliability and exceptionally high levels of passenger safety are amongst its key features.
“These qualities have moved Subaru from the dusty rally-driving fields of its traditional successes to the heart of the home.”
Women have an 80% share of the family decision on what car to buy, she said and 100% when it comes to buying their own vehicle.
Van Gaalen said that this latest recognition augers well for Forester which already accounts for 50% of total Subaru sales.
