Here's something to meditate on... Mauritius' Shanti Maurice resort

Although the Shanti Maurice resort on the east cost of Mauritius has always had holistic health at its epicentre, they continue to be en trend with their announcement of a Health & Fitness Week in June this year.
Just the place to go for a restful but invigorating "workout" that will leave you feeling like a million dollars.
Just the place to go for a restful but invigorating "workout" that will leave you feeling like a million dollars.

From Monday, 3 June to Sunday 9 June, guests can expect to have their bodies, spirits and minds reshaped by a team of health professionals including nutritionist, ayurvedic physician, personal trainers, osteopath, physiotherapist and spa therapists.

Going the holistic nine yards

When we visited the resort, we were immediately drawn to their programme of exercise, yoga, meditation and the most fabulous pools and seascapes. Make a point of booking a Watsu treatment in the especially designed Watsu pool - one of the best holistic treatments I've experienced anywhere in the world.

With a roster of the rich and famous on her books, from A-list Hollywood actors to TV presenters and International Newspaper Editors, Amelie Freer, Expert Nutritionist, will provide consultations throughout the week. A self-confessed foodie, Amelie encourages people to enjoy food, applying realistic and achievable guidelines so that they continue to benefit in the long term. With the rest of the team from SP&Co, Stephen Price, a former professional sportsman with a unique understanding of how an individual's mindset impacts physical performance, works closely with Amelia to create individual programs that caters to their clients specific needs. This will be reflected during the week at Shanti Maurice, whose Nira Spa therapists, headed by Dr Arun Satheesh, ensures an even more bespoke experience.
