The new hotel, the Protea Hotel Ndola, will have 80 bedrooms comprising 60 double-bed deluxe rooms and 20 twin-bed deluxe rooms. All rooms will have extra-length beds, satellite TV, air-conditioning, a telephone, electronic safes and free Wi-Fi access. The hotel will also have a restaurant, bar and swimming pool.

There will also be three conference rooms suitable for conferences, seminars, workshops, corporate functions, cocktail parties and product launches. The three rooms can also be combined for larger conferences of up to 400 people.

Cairo Road refurbishment

The Protea Hotel Cairo Road's refurbishment is worth more than USD300 000.

The public areas have so far been revamped and the room renovation will soon to be underway. The reception area, bar, restaurant and conference room on the ground floor have been transformed into bright, modern and chic areas for guests to enjoy. The restaurant has been converted from an open-plan area to a more private set-up with a warm atmosphere created by the colours and designs incorporated in the seating arrangement, as well as the decorative buffet bar. The bar area is now separate from the dining room with extra seating spaces.

The next stage of the refurbishment will incorporate all of the 75 bedrooms. The bedrooms will undergo a soft refurbishment giving them a modern look and feel.
