Mango launches new schedule for optimised flight times

Low cost airline Mango has announced the launch of its new schedule, on all of its routes, which will be fully incorporated by beginning September. The new schedule, designed based on extensive research and traveller demand, will come into effect in stages during August. Certain flight numbers may also be amended to reflect the new timetable.

"The new schedule is the culmination of several months' research," says chief executive Nico Bezuidenhout, "and a complete overhaul of our operating timetable." He says that on review the airline's decision to optimise its schedule is founded on both demand and improved operational efficiency.

"Mango's high asset utilisation ratio already counts among the top tiered low cost airlines globally. Along with a more effective schedule that will serve our Guests better, we will also see even greater improved asset utilisation." The airline already transports near similar numbers of travellers compared to peers with double the fleet size.

Changes to be communicated

Schedule notification to all airline Guests already booked comprises the rollout of a contact programme via telephone and through email confirmation. The schedule will be published on all the airline's owned media channels.

"While flight times may differ only by a couple of hours to a few minutes, we will engage with every Guest whose flight times are even slightly affected in order to communicate the changes," says Bezuidenhout. "If you do not hear from us, rest assured your flight details remain the same."

Mango's optimised schedule will be available in stages on its website www.flymango.com.
