Flowers from Cape Grace... a la cart

Guests at The Cape Grace Hotel often talk about the "special touch" that makes them willing to pay the premium required to be a guest at one of the V&A Waterfront's costliest addresses. Now you can have your cake as well - and eat it.

Locals have been able to enjoy The Cape Grace experience using their fabulous library which is one of my favourite locations for a meeting, the Signal restaurant and, of course, Bascule Bar which since inception has been the hangout of moneyed Cape Town.

Now, that Cape Grace "special touch" is more accessible than ever - much in the same way that Prada perfume is loved by people who probably can't afford anything else with the Prada label.

Not only will hotel guests and locals be able to purchase bespoke flowers and cakes from the hotel but also from a dandy cart, all canopied stripes and sweet-smelling blossoms, right out of My Fair Lady. Manned by the Cape Grace's superb staff, the cart will operate daily from 09H00 - 20H00 from the pedestrian route between the city and the V&A Waterfront.

Cape Grace cakes are now also available, with 24-hour's notice, to purchase for R320 resplendent in a hotel cake box.

The Cape Grace hotel has just upped the ante as far as dinner party gifts are concerned. A last minute pop-in to the wine shop and garage to buy flowers probably won't cut the mustard much longer.
