Feast at The Palace raises funds for Nepal

The money was raised through an auction of rare sporting memorabilia and hotel accommodation amongst other high-end items to raise funds. Honorable Amrit Rai, the Ambassador of Nepal, accepted the cheques on behalf of the Nepalese Disaster Fund at the event at The Palace of the Lost City.
The dinner at The Palace was attended by some 130 guests, among whom included Dr Billy Gallagher, one of South Africa's foremost culinary experts and former president of the South African Chefs Association (SACA) and the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS).
In addition to the money raised for the Nepalese relief effort, The Palace of the Lost City also reached an amount of R510,000, combined from three different fundraising initiatives implemented with the assistance of the Academy of Chefs, to build an orphanage in Monakato.

A portion of the proceeds raised will be donated to the Walter Ulz Educational Fund and Sun City's Mandela Day drive to collect blankets and non-perishable food items to be distributed to children's charities in underprivileged communities within the Bojanala District on 18 July 2015.
Caring citizens can donate blankets and non-perishable food items to this campaign until 15 July 2015.
