Manchester had the first few minutes of the match, I was on my knees praying that Ronaldo did not suddenly pull a rabbit out of a hat. Those first few shots that flew past the upright were a bit too close for comfort.
As the game went on Barca started knocking the ball around and not just the basic stop and pass, this was something else, even Manchester fans were sure to be in awe. All defenders were on Lionel Messi, who should now be considered the best player in the world. Even if there was a brick wall in front of the little Argentinean he would somehow find a way to get past or over it. Xavi was slipping passes through the pin-holes in Manchester's defence. Eventually the Cameroon panther, Samuel Eto flicked the ball pass Edwin Van De Saar and that was the beginning of the end for Ferguson's boys.
After Barca put in the first goal a tear of joy rolled down my face. Anytime Barca had the ball, it seemed the whole team were thinking with one mind. Messi was playing as if he was in his own backyard, running at the Manchester defence or I should say running pass them. Ironically Messi scored the final goal not with his foot but with his head, which is strange as he is one of the smallest players on the field. It was not all about Messi though. Xavi and Iniesta the midfield maestro's conducted Barca like a finely tuned orchestra.
I'll try and be objective and say Manchester played well, they really did. But last night Barca played football in such a way that in comparison Manchester looked like an ordinary team.
For Ferguson the transfer season is almost upon him, it's almost definite that Tevez will leave but there's still a question mark hanging over Cristiano Ronaldo's head.
