Moroka Swallows pair en route to join Amajita

The National under 20 team (Amajita) has arrived safely in Kenya, and final preparations are already underway ahead of the African Youth Championship scheduled for Rwanda from 17January 2009. Moroka Swallows Football Club have also kept their promise by releasing Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Phumelele Bhengu after yesterday's league fixture against Maritzburg United. Mphahlele and Bhengu are already on their way to Kenya to join the rest of their team mates for the final preparatory camp.

Speaking from the team's camp in the capital city of Kenya, Nairobi, Coach Serame Letsoaka says he's grateful to all the teams that have released the players for what he described as an important youth tournament in the continent.

“The presence of Thulani Serero from Ajax Cape Town, Kamohelo Mokotjo from Supersport United and Bongani Sondlane of Kaizer Chiefs, plus the expected arrival of Mphahlele and Bengu gives us the required depth in the team. We missed our morning training session due to some technical problems, but everything is now all set, and we are looking forward to our first training session this afternoon,” says Letsoaka.

South Africa are in tough group along with Nigeria, Egypt and Ivory Coast.
