SAFA intensifies Operations

The South African Football Association (SAFA) is implementing a strategy to optimise its operations in all departments. The plan will be implemented in phases, starting off with changes in the Competitions Department in operation with immediate effect.

For maximum and efficient operations, the Vodacom League will be coordinated by Jabulani Ndobe and Victor Matshogo. The two bring a wealth of experience in administration and coordination of competitions. Ndobe is a former Limpopo Provincial Secretary of SAFA and a Regional Executive of SAFA Vhembe; Matshogo is a former second coordinator of the Metropolitan League and a Regional Executive of SAFA West Rand.

Ndobe will be responsible for coordinating the Vodacom League in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Free State, Eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal, while Matshogo will coordinate Limpopo, North West, Northern Cape and Western Cape.

The Metropolitan League will be coordinated by Wellington Ngcobo and Michael Mofokeng, while the SAB Regional League will be coordinated by Connie Twala, who will also assist Lucy Maube in coordinating Women Football Leagues.

SAFA CEO Raymond Hack says the changes are a result of an internal environmental scan that guides the Association to refine its operations. He says the Association will implement changes in phases as part of the repositioning strategy. “We are committed to serve all our stakeholders diligently, in particular the Clubs, our Regions and Local Football Associations. Our main objective is optimise our day to day operations,” said Hack.

In another development, the SAFA inspection team led by the Director of Competitions Balebetse Monnakgotla, will inspect facilities in East London for the 11th edition of the Vodacom League National Play offs. The play offs are scheduled for the week of 4-10 May 2009.
