Australian cricket legend Shane Warne dies
Warne was known to be arguably the greatest leg-spinner of all time. He was 52 years old.
He died while in Koh Samui, after suffering a suspected heart attack. According to Warne’s management team, he was found unresponsive in his villa and the medical staff were unable to revive him.

Behind Muttiah Muralitharan (who had 800 wickets), Warne is the second-highest wicket-taker in test cricket history with 708 wickets. He is also credited with reviving the art of leg-spinning. He played for Australia from 1992 - 2007. He continued to play on the franchise Twenty20 circuit before retiring entirely in 2013.
Warne was well-known for his colourful way of life and his exploits on the field. In 1999, he helped Australia win the limited-overs World Cup and took 293 wickets in 194 one-day internationals. Warne also enjoyed a successful career with his Australian state side Victoria and captained English county Hampshire.
In 2000, Warne was named one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the century, alongside Sir Donald Bradman, Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Jack Hobbs and Sir Viv Richards.

Warne’s death came soon after the death of Australian cricketer Rod Marsh. His family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
