Cape Fight League to appear on Blackbelt TV
The Cape Fight League (CFL), which features some of the top amateur and professional MMA fighters and kickboxers in South Africa, has been signed up by Blackbelt TV, the 24/7 martial arts television channel on DStv channel 129.

A chance to compete
MMA gym owners and coaches, Gary Barrett (Takedown MMA) and Anthony Kettle (Panther Fighting Arts & Fitness Academy) formed Cape Fight League in September 2011 to highlight the talents of Cape Town fighters. It gives both amateurs and professionals a chance to compete, not only with each other but also with fighters from across the country and abroad.
Blackbelt TV's founder and CEO, Larry Kasanoff, was in South Africa last week to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the channel on DStv. Better known as a Hollywood film producer with box office hits such as Mortal Kombat, Terminator 2 and True Lies under his belt, he met with CFL co-founder Barrett to strike the deal.
"The CFL is excited about this as it is an honour and achievement for us to be the first South African production to be aired on Blackbelt TV," said Barrett. "We are looking forward to 2014 and working closely with Blackbelt TV on other exciting shows."
Featuring events
Blackbelt TV will feature CFL events from the last 18 months and as many as seven events in 2014 in one-hour shows. The next event, CFL 5, takes place on 7 December 2013 at Sunningdale Sports Club in Cape Town.
"With Blackbelt TV, we bring the world of martial arts to South Africa and now we are going to take South African martial arts to the world," said Kasanoff. "We are thrilled to have signed up CFL and to be able to show its fights on Blackbelt TV, both here in South Africa and all over the world."
