Cyclists invited to ride for a purpose
Steyn City Properties is calling on anyone associated with the development or neighbouring residents entering this year's Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge event, who would like to ride for a purpose, to contact them to help raise funds for the Diepsloot community north west of Johannesburg. The cycle challenge encourages all participants to ride for a purpose and make a difference.
Last year culminated in Steyn City Properties bringing Christmas cheer to 8 000 primary children in Diepsloot and the community witnessing Johannesburg's largest Christmas gift drop ever. Together with sponsors Auto & General, Waltons and Spar, they delivered backpacks filled with stationery sets, water bottles, soccer balls, ding bats and sweets to the children.
This year, the developers want to leave a legacy by providing quality playground and outdoor-exercise equipment for all Diepsloot's primary and secondary schools. They are looking for riders to raise a portion of the funds for this much-needed initiative, as many children do not have access to this kind of equipment in their school yards or public areas. In addition to providing hours of fun, the equipment will help develop the children's gross motor skills, which are important for movements like walking, maintaining balance, coordination and jumping.
