Converse calls for entrants to a chance play at London's 100 Club

Converse wants unsigned talent to get out of the garage and upload your best original song and band bio via its Facebook page, so that South Africans can decide who to send to the UK to play a gig at this epic venue later in 2012.
Converse calls for entrants to a chance play at London's 100 Club

The 100 Club in London has played host to some of the most influential artists on the planet since 24 October, 1942. Converse joined forces with The 100 Club in 2011, when it was threatened with closure due to rent increases and local taxes. Its future now secured, it continues to host some of the most interesting acts on the music scene, from big names to obscure up-and-comings, and now it will host SA's finest unsigned talent. For more information about the club, check out www.the100club.co.uk

Whether you are a punk rocker, electro fundi, kickass proponent of kwaito, or a hip hop playa, Converse wants to hear you!

To upload your best original song and band bio

If you're an unsigned band/artist, upload your best original song and band bio via the Facebook page www.facebook.com/converse. The judges (Zulu Boy, Jon Savage and Garick Williams) will then narrow down the entries to SA's top 10. Converse will then showcase these acts on Facebook, where South Africa decides who is lucky enough to be sent to London. One fan will have the chance to join his favourite band VIP style for the gig.

Share your band's story and the music behind and showcase your talent at http://on.fb.me/1getout. Be sure to follow the conversation on Twitter @Converse_Africa and with the #Play100Club hashtag. Entries close on 8 July and winners will be announced on 6 August, 2012.
