TBCSA addresses SA outbound travel concerns following unabridged waiver

ASATA had expressed concerns regarding outbound travel by South African children, following this the TBCSA together with ASATA have engaged with the Minister of Tourism Hon. Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane.
"The TBCSA are delighted to announce that the engagement was fruitful and there has been an agreement on the way forward. The agreed way forward will include proposals and recommendations from the TBCSA and ASATA on practical ways that could be implemented to ensure smooth travel movement for South African children without compromising security.
"It is important that as an industry we continue to engage in meaningful discussions that harness inclusive growth and address concerns that may hinder tourism business growth," said Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa, TBCSA CEO.
"We are grateful that the Minister of Tourism has always been available to have a discussion with the industry. This further shows the commitment from the Minister and Government in growing tourism in South Africa. We look forward to further engagements as we continue to collaborate on moving tourism further."
TBCSA will continue to work closely with government in improving ease of travel in and out of South Africa as this will help unlock growth in our sector. The tourism sector’s potential is enormous in this country and given the necessary space to grow, it will stimulate the economy and create more jobs.
