The bursary scheme aims to assist in training and educating qualifying applicants, by granting 100 students with bursaries for a four-year qualification in property-related studies.

Bursaries are being offered for full-time university studies at a South African university in the following disciplines:

  • BSc Property Studies
  • BSc Real Estate
  • BSc Property Development
  • BCom Honours Property Valuation and Management

Applicants, especially Grade 12 learners, who are currently unemployed or not studying and who have the drive and dedication to further their education and work towards a future within the property industry and related fields will benefit from this opportunity.

A prerequisite for qualification is that the applicants have a Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate with university exemption. Current matriculants do not need to provide preliminary results - final Grade 11 and June results will suffice.

About the bursary scheme, Neil Gopal, CEO of SAPOA says, "As SAPOA, we are honoured to be partnering with Services Seta on this opportunity. There is a need for suitably qualified students to join the property industry, and we are confident that we will find the best and most deserving candidates. This partnership is in line within our vision to be committed to actively and responsibly representing, promoting and protecting the interests of our member's commercial activities within the property industry and further extends to educating the future generations of South Africa, resulting in benefits such as empowerment, education and training."

For the application form and the full list of minimum requirements, go to www.sapoa.org.za. Applications close on Monday, 31 August 2015.
