If things went wrong then tell the truth, let the interviewer know that things went wrong. But be careful - you can't tell interviewers that the company was fraudulently not paying their bills or government taxes. You can't tell interviewers that you left the company due to sexual harassment (unless you have proof).
If your ex-boss was doing drugs you can't tell people he/she is a drug-addict. It is totally unprofessional to bad-mouth an ex-employer and will most likely count against you in a job interview.
So what do you say?
Tell the interviewer you weren't happy at the company because your future goals and their way of doing business clashed. Tell the interviewer you and your boss had different ideas on what was right and wrong, or that you feel your skill and your set of values would be more appreciated in another environment.
DON'T under any circumstances bad-mouth an ex-employer.
