Tertiary students invited to enter Collect-a-Can competition

Collect-a-Can's Artistic Expression Competition, which has been running for a number of years as a school competition, has now been opened to tertiary level students instead and will reward students' creative efforts with exciting prizes which include an Apple Macbook, an Apple iPad and an Apple iPhone.

The new competition has been aptly named the Art-Can-Win Competition and encourages students to create a print advert for Collect-a-Can. The winning entry will form part of Collect-a-Can's 2013 national advertising campaign.

"South Africa's youth mean a great deal to Collect-a-Can and we relish the opportunity to engage with tertiary level students," says Zimasa Velaphi, public relations and marketing manager of Collect-a-Can. "The competition encourages entrants to become cognisant of the important work that Collect-a-Can is doing through the recovery of used cans, not only by benefiting the environment but also by creating jobs and building environmental awareness."

The competition launched on 1 July and will run until 31 October 2012. It is open to tertiary level students only. Entry forms are available on the Collect-a-Can website www.collectacan.co.za. Entries can either be mailed to Collect-a-Can at PO Box 30500, Kyalami, 1684, for attention Janette Kruger or emailed to az.oc.nacatcelloc@ettenej.
