AFASA's Young Farmers Summit is a contribution to food security for the future

"The aim of this event is to mobilise young farmers, mobilise support from stakeholders as well as build strong relationships with young people who are involved in farming," says Nono Sekhoto, AFASA youth desk national chairperson.
The 2018 edition includes delegates from both private and public sectors such as headline sponsors and will feature a lecture session on climate smart agriculture by Cedric Baloyi from the ICCO Cooperation and a keynote address from businessman and entrepreneur, Miles Khubeka. Young farmers in attendance will stand a chance to win access to various business support to further develop their farming enterprise.
"In light of the current land debate and the need for our country to ensure food security for generations to come, it has become even more important that we are able to empower young farmers, especially black youth, to ensure that they are able to function optimally in these trying environmental and economic times" add Vuyo Mahlathi, President of AFASA.
