A qualified chartered accountant, Van Breda will be leading Proxama's financial programme for growth, especially in the North American and European markets. He will be responsible for the commercial relationships and contract negotiations that Proxama has with its partners, suppliers and clients, and will be central to formulating and executing Proxama's business development strategy and business planning.

Whilst Van Breda specialises in the telecoms and technology industries, he has built up a wealth and variety of experience from more than 20 years of working in numerous industry sectors for global brands such as KPMG and Goldman Sachs.

A perfect fit

On joining Proxama, Van Breda said: "The marriage of telecoms and technology that NFC mobile marketing and contactless payments offers is a perfect fit for me. Proxama has grown rapidly in the last two years to become one of the world's leading NFC specialists and the opportunities that are available for growth make it a very attractive company to help grow. There is a huge amount of talent in the senior management team and the company has already shown its ambition for growth by opening an office in New York to make inroads into the North American market. My role focuses on creating value with the team through implementing growth strategies and creating a sound financial footing that will enable Proxama to continue to be at the core of the development of NFC services worldwide, and to reach the targets it has set for itself."
