Ekurhuleni councillor's house razed
IOL News says that angry protesters razed councillor Mthumeleni Nditha's house in Langaville, Ekurhuleni in a protest over the lack of new houses.
Nditha had left his home at about 7am to take his one child to school while his 18-year-old daughter remained home. She was in the house when protesters set fire to it.
The mob wanted to attack Nditha when he returned but members of the community prevented them from doing so.
Council spokesman Zweli Dlamini says that alternative accommodation is being arranged for the family who lost everything in the blaze.
He says that security has been increased for the other council members living in Langaville, neighbouring Tsakane, KwaThema and Duduza.
