RSA Market Agents comes to Cape Town

In his keynote address, van Rensburg said that, "Agriculture is an extremely important economic contributor: It represents 4.2% of our provincial economy; 21.9% of the national agricultural output and 45% of all South African agricultural exports pass through this province.
"As a value adding agricultural enterprise, you are therefore most welcome to the Western Cape. From my perspective as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, I am a firm believer in the role of traditional markets and the role that agents play in establishing fair prices based on quality and supply and demand on a daily bases. Cape Town market is of vital importance to many of our commercial growers and to almost all of our smaller and new farmers."
Local partnership
The Cape Town deal followed the company's tried and tested formula of finding a suitable agency already operating on that market and then joining forces so as to maximize the potential of both under one banner. It linked up with Dangrow Market Agency, one of the first agencies in the country to be launched and owned outside the traditional 'white' ownership mould of most market agencies. With their long history in the fresh produce business, the Daniels family could contribute positively.
The new agency not only reflects the character and experience of the Daniels family but also brings the expertise, values and know-how of RSA to bear.
As part of its launch celebrations and in line with its social upliftment policy, the company donated R20 000 to the Leadership College based in Manenberg, an independent high school offering free holistic education to gifted learners from impoverished backgrounds.
