    Kenyan companies awarded for CSR initiatives

    The first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Kenya Awards will be held in June 2010. Companies will be awarded for outstanding, innovative and world-class products, services and projects that create a high social and environmental benefit for the community and the business.

    The awards have been endorsed by the Kenyan National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and will be organised by Africapractice. Categories will include: Best CSR /Sustainability Report; Best Workplace Practice; Environmental Excellence; Most Ethical and Responsible Business Practice for Supply Chains; Most Sustainable and Scalable Community Investment; and Most Successful Sustainable Finance Investment.

    The 2010 CSR Kenya Awards will open for entries in January 2010. Entries are accepted from any Kenyan registered company, from both in-house departments and external individuals who are recommending the CSR initiative. The CSR initiative must have been carried out within Kenya. If the work was implemented outside of Kenya, it must have been initiated, coordinated and evaluated by the Kenyan office. Projects running between February 2009 and March 2010 are eligible for entry.
