Ethiopian Airlines acquires 49% stake in Chad national carrier
Ethiopian Airlines will launch the national carrier in Chad after it finalised its partnership with the national government. The airline has a 49% stake in the joint venture, while the government of Chad retains 51%.
The new Chad national carrier is set to launch on 1 October 2018. Ethiopian currently operates hubs in Lomé (Togo) with ASKY Airlines and Malawian in Lilongwe (Malawi), while having the already acquired stakes in Zambia's and Guinea's national carriers and making preparations to launch Ethiopian Mozambique Airlines.
