DKMS Africa held its annual Sunflower Day on 16 September outside St George's Cathedral in Cape Town to honour those who have lost their lives to blood cancer.

Unicef South Africa and the National Department of Social Development have partnered with Momentum Insure to add youth-friendly activities to safe parks. The first activation took place in Klipspruit Safe Parks Centre last week to highlight the safety concerns of Soweto residents, especially those affecting children and to demonstrate the transformative power of safe parks. Momentum Insure staff members planted vegetable gardens, painted the park's fence, and incorporated painted handprints of all participants and kids, as well as played jenga, monopoly and chess with them....

Hyundai Automotive South Africa and the Hyundai Motor Company, in collaboration with the Imperial and Motus Community Trust, donated a library and information centre to Thulasizwe Primary School in Boksburg this week.

The fourth Mandela Day Food Drive was held nationwide by FoodForward SA in partnership with Pick n Pay on 18 July 2022 after the initiative was paused during the pandemic.

Leoka Engineering and Anglo American ran a Winter Drive on 15 June. Rustenburg's Bothibelelo Primary School, Khayalethu Secondary School, Motlhare Mokaute Secondary School, B.F. Morake Primary School and Monakato Primary School received winter uniforms to prevent students from missing classes due to bad weather. Learners also received new school shoes and tracksuits.

After another challenging year, Santa has new helpers who will spread festive cheer and help vulnerable communities at the same time. Thirty Pick n Pay asap! drivers in red Santa's uniforms joined forces to deliver groceries to a local non-profit organisation for distribution to vulnerable citizens.

Engine partnered with StellCare Family Services, SAPS and the Gift of the Givers and distributed winter items to the community.

The Dis-Chem Foundation has donated 5,200 blankets to 33 organisations nominated by Dis-Chem's Facebook followers and Dis-Chem Pharmacy staff. This initiative has been running for five years and this year, the organisations range from old age homes to children's homes and animal shelters. See the images below:.

It took 61 volunteers, 376 hours, 100 social entrepreneur stations feeding more than 67,000 meals, plus bags of warmth to make Mandela Day a huge success for ChangeMakersHub.

The sixth Match in Africa took place at the Cape Town Stadium on 7 February 2020. The record breaking 51'945 fans witnessed history in action, when Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal went head-to-head raising USD 3.5 million (approximately R54.6 million) for the charitable Roger Federer Foundation. The Match in Africa also showcased a host of local talent in between the matches, including the legendary Ndlovu Youth Choir and the energetic Zip Zap Circus....

Moerieda Joubert’s mother understood the importance of connecting with people. And what better way to do that than by sharing a meal? Even though she had Parkinson’s, she would prepare food for the local old-age home out of her own pocket. After her passing, Joubert has proved the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Tebogo Mabye was dreaming of success, even while living on the streets. His hometown, Hillbrow, is synonymous with poverty, crime, and constant police sirens – but also a community who refuses to give up. “There is a hustling spirit,” Mabye says.
