- Daily Dispatch: Editors reject ruling party's bid to campaign in newsrooms... A request by the ANC in the Eastern Cape to be given a platform to campaign in newsrooms in an attempt to woo votes from journalists was shot down by editors earlier this week, reports East London's Daily Dispatch.
The paper reports that "Mvusiwekhaya Sicwetsha, an ANC member and spokesman for local government MEC Mlibo Qoboshiyane, yesterday e-mailed editors of the Daily Dispatch, The Herald, SABC regional news, Algoa FM and Bay TV requesting an opportunity to 'campaign to your staff ahead of the 2014 general elections'."
The response was "No".
