Show profile Hide profileI am an individual who has a passion for Law and current affairs. I have held a numerous amount of leadership positions in both my high school and tertiary career. Particularly, I was appointed as a Prefect in High School, was Captain of the Ogwini Comprehensive Technical High School Debating team and am currently the Regional Chairperson for the UNISA Law Student Association.
I pursued a career in Law as a result of being involved in the high school debating team, to this, I enjoyed the wit and intellectual spur that was required to deliver a compelling argument to win the debate, it is from that point that I sought a career that required the elements of wit, intellectual stimulation, as well as good oral and written communication. Law as a career proved to be a path that I would gain use of and develop these elements/skills set in different private and public sectors within South African and global economy.
Being a good Law student requires that the one value and balance one's academic career and extra-curricular activities. I have in this regard been able to effectively bring a sound balance to these two factors: I have achieved a distinction (92%) in Social Dimensions of Justice core module and have maintained an average of 65% in my studies thus far; further, I was elected to be on the board of the University of South Africa's Regional Law Student Association as the Chairperson and I am working as a candidate Attorney at a law firm located in Durban central to which I have handled and been exposed to an array of facets of the Law, such as general litigation, estates and administration of trusts.
