Jan Badenhorst
I have been in private distance learning since 1992. First INTEC and Damelin Correspondence College. In 2007 I founded College SA. Today I am concentrating on Skills Academy and the Home Study Group.
Show profile Hide profileMy first formal job was in Publishing with INTEC College. I lived through the time when Distance Learning Colleges like Rapid Results College, Damelin Correspondence College, Mentor College, Lyceum College and others ended up in International Colleges Group, which was the distance learning arm of Educor.
I left INTEC in 2007, just before Educor got sold to ICESA. And started College SA in October 2007.
Since then I have sold College SA, and retained a stake in Skills Academy, Learning Group and the Decor School. Together with my partners we are now growing this into a group called Home Study Group.
I believe that in our lifetimes we shall not be able to fully provide education for the number of people who want education in South Africa. Providing this education is not easy, and making profits in education is not easy. We are still learning how to do it.
I believe in cooperation with other education providers. I don't believe my business has any "business secrets". So feel free to reach out if you want my opinion or help.
