I am determined to be the best that I can be, to have faith in myself, to persevere and hold my head high even under the most delicate or hazardous circumstances. Show profile Hide profileWith my working experience, mostly in the clinical private sector of as well as being a shift leader for more than three years in surgical departments, both day and night shift, has given me experience and knowledge to be able to carry out my duties with professionalism and confidence, This ensures holistic quality care to all my patients, thereby maintaining high standards of service delivery and at the same time maintaining and monitoring cost - effective methods for the company concerned.
My eight years of experience in the managed health care sector has provided me with knowledge and experience in this particular field, especially when it comes to coding and authorizations, claims and liason with service providers, hospitals, clients and members of the various medical aid schemes, where one deals with sometimes irate, over-stressed or anxious members. This ensures that members' needs are met and that quality care is provided, whilst at the same time providing continued re-assurance and ensuring confidentiality with regard to their health issues. This while all the while time working within the rules and guidelines that are part of protocol which ultimately promotes good relationships within the industry.
I have also worked in Occupation Health clinics around the Peninsula, rendering primary health care and monitoring the health and medication compliance of workers with chronic conditions and completing medical examinations (ie. eye tests, spirometry tests, audio testing, physical examinations. I was tasked with doing the administrative work,( ie. daily, weekly and monthly statistics), medical reports with regard to monthly medical examinations and work injury reports and record keeping, monitoring and replenishing of all first aid boxes in the operational departments of the workplace.
I consider myself a compassionate, caring person with good interpersonal skills, with both patients and team members, being able to work both independently and in a team. I am always open to learning and enjoy the opportunity of being involved in the training of new staff members.
I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans, with both excellent written and verbal skills, and am adept at report writing.
