Show profile Hide profileI am an academically well-qualified economist who is confident in his ability to derive clarity, insight and knowledge from complex data. In addition, as a team-player I can easily collaborate with other economists, and as superb communicator I am comfortable with speaking to influential audiences.
when I was conducting my research project in my Honours degree, I received in-depth learning on the dynamics of public economics, particularly transport economics and its impact on the GDP. If I may elaborate; what inspired my topic on "Determinants of motor car exports in South Africa" was a prevalence of media reporting on the rise of the industry. This study used largely quantitative methods to test both theoretical and empirical evidence. The analysis of data was based on an econometric modeling; using time-series data analysis using the simple ordinary least squares (OLS) to test the hypothesis. This study modified (Geofrey A.Rwenyagila, 2013) model of the relationship between exports, economic growth (GDP), foreign direct investment (FDI), real exchange rate (EXR) and terms of trade (TOT). he used a model were exports was the dependent variable with the independent variables TOT, GDP,FDI and EXT.
Working as part of the system monitoring analysis of higher education and training sector, I have wide exposure of macro-economic elements related to the sector. These include unemployment and Trade in relation to human capital. I have also gained an extensive experience in modeling, working with a new model "Linked-Macro Education Model" which is based on series of econometric models and provided for the department to assist in skills planning and forecast future skills needs.
Right now I would like to work for a reputable and exciting company, with a good and challenging environment to apply my skills and knowledge towards a competitive environment and prove myself.
