Show profile Hide profileTo Develop Business case by carrying out feasibility studies and collecting inputs from all relevant stakeholders to ensure that project requirements & objectives are properly defined, project accurately costed and planned. Tabling Business Cases on new strategies of the Department.
To Develop a project plan/charter by defining strategic intent, scope, roles, setting targets/milestones and allocating resources to ensure that deliverable are met in accordance to agreed schedule and national project management for the roll out implementation of Security system and design.
To Facilitate the presentation of all the projects to the project steering committee for approval based on business priorities, availability of resources and the critical success factor of the project on the business critical objectives & strategies.
To Manage the cross functional projects within the department using project management principles & system development life cycle by ensuring that projects are completed in line with the specification within the authorized cost limits and to agreed schedules and resources are allocated accordingly.
To Develop, manage and maintain good relationships with the key stakeholders by joining forces with line management in debugging & de- bottle-necking of projects in order to optimize volume, accordance to the project charter and business objectives.
To Build capacity within the department and organisation at large based on the organisational needs through information sessions, workshops, on the job training, etc and assessing performance to ensure availability of competencies and empowered employees regarding project management.
To Compile and manage operating budget for the project/s per major milestone to ensure compliance to approved project targets and achieve cost containment by implementing and overseeing financial systems for cost control.
National Project Management for the roll-out implementation of the Security Systems and Designs. Managing outputs of staff. Managing outputs of Service Providers. Finalizing of Project Plans for implementation of Security Designs. National site visits to track project progress. Project meetings to establish project completion dates. Conceptual designs of security systems on projects.
To Ensure all security systems installed are working and integrated to the Security Nerve Centers. Ensure that maintenance is carried out on all existing and new security systems nationally. Being responsible for the Technical Security Systems Design Team to provide feedback on system integrity and to be abreast of the latest technology in the market. Also provide assistance and guidance to other Transnet Divisions of security systems designs and help them to ensure that correct security solutions are implemented to address crime effectively.
Managing of Operational and Capital Budget. Funding approval on cash flow per quarter. Support for the development of new product and systems. Support for security equipment integrated product team, trains, buildings and containers benefit from these to advance customer, employee confidence, in Transnet Freight Rail security.
To Conduct research and development on new technology to reduce costs and to implement systems that generates a return on investment to the company. Work jointly with the Contracts and Administration Management Team to reduce guarding costs and to implement systems that generates a return on investment to the company.
