William Grant & Sons top Scotch Whisky Masters awards

The company took home a total of 15 medals, including a Master for Glenfiddich 30 Year Old, a gold each for Glenfiddich 12 and 21 Year Old, and a silver for Glenfiddich 15 and 18 Year Old. The Balvenie also had a good outing taking home a Master for The Balvenie Double Wood 12 Year Old and a silver for The Balvenie Single Barrel 15 Year Old. The impressive number of medals won has reaffirmed William Grant & Sons excellence in whisky making and the quality of its products.

The Scotch Whisky Masters is fast becoming one of the most respected and high-profile blind-tasting competitions in the industry, attracting entries from leading brands all over the world. This year, Patience Gould, editor of The Spirits Business, along with a panel of leading spirits and on-trade specialists, judged 147 entries. In an article published in magazine, Gould commented, "William Grant's had an excellent showing this year and in terms of a brand with the biggest booty, Glenfiddich in its various guises was the star of the show."

In addition to the Scotch Whisky Masters, the Company is the reigning IWSC Worldwide Distiller of the Year and its Glenfiddich brand has received more medals for the quality of its spirit than any other single malt Scotch whisky.

The Spirits Business is reputed to be the only international trade title solely dedicated to the spirits industry.
