Directed by Peter Thwaites, the 60-second TVC begins with a mechanical butterfly emerging from a cocoon. As we follow its flight through forests and across green valleys, it is joined by numerous other mechanical butterflies headed towards London. People stop in their tracks to marvel at the colourful kaleidoscope passes by their office and iconic London landmarks.
Finally congregating on a skyscraper rooftop, the creatures slowly come together in a magnificent display to form the new Ford Focus.
Andy Rogers, head of production at Eclectic comments, “The music needed to start simply, grow with emotion and build to where the butterflies land and create the all-new Focus. We started by looking at a broad selection of styles and genres - everything from Disney classics to modern orchestral ensembles. String lead pieces always seemed to work well. The Cinematic Orchestra’s ‘Arrival of The Birds’ is an amazingly uplifting piece and not the band’s much-loved ‘To Build A Home’ track that everyone knows so well. We had the track for some time and were waiting for just the right project to marry the track with.”
