Air Mauritius has six A350s on order, scheduled for delivery between now and 2023. Rolls-Royce will also be providing Air Mauritius with its TotalCare service support which will ensure reliable and economical operation.
Speaking at the delivery celebration, Somas Appavou, chief executive of Air Mauritius said: “We have to take advantage of new technologies to enhance our service standards, improve customer experience and optimise operations. The delivery of the first A350 is totally in line with this ambition and is the starting point of our fleet renewal programme.”
Air Mauritius is the second airline in Africa to receive the A350 after Ethiopian Airways.
The delivery of the first A350 to Air Mauritius comes in the same week that Airbus and Rolls-Royce celebrated the successful first flight of the brand new A330-neo aircraft, which is exclusively powered by Rolls-Royce's Trent 7000 engines.
