Global Road Safety Partnership SA appoints new exec board

The Global Road Safety Partnership South Africa, which works with various sectors in the community to educate and contribute towards community safety on and around roads, has appointed a new executive board.

Ntobeko Phakathi from Shell SA was appointed as the new chairperson. Phakathi is the social investment manager at Shell South Africa. “Ntobeko is extensively involved in promoting road safety in South Africa as this issue is one of the key themes for social investment at Shell SA. We hope that the skills this has given her will help the GRSP SA reach greater success with her in the role of chairperson,” says Lucky Molaudzi, the general manager of the GRSP SA.

The MD of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, was appointed to the position of deputy chairperson. “Eugene has always been a strong advocate of road safety and played a prominent role in prioritising the issue. We are happy to have him in an executive role at the organisation where he can lend his valuable expertise and knowledge to an organisation which strives for the same objective as he does.”

Finally, Bheki Dlodlo, the crisis and continuity and road safety manager from BP was elected as treasurer. “Bheki is committed to reducing road crash related fatalities. We look forward to sharing his experience and knowledge in road safety.”
