Yamaha dominates Junior National Off Road Race

The opening round of the 2013 Junior National Off Road Championship kicked off in Lesotho this past weekend with the Junior Roof of Africa and Yamaha riders completely dominated the rain soaked and muddy race by taking the top five overall positions, and well as the top two spots on the podium in both the Open (250 F) Class and the 125cc Class.

Overall and Open Class victory went to Criterion Yamaha Portable Shade's Damien Scott, with his team-mate and fellow Yamaha YZ 250 F rider, Kyle Flanagan, bringing his mount home in second position overall, and in second place in the Open Class.

In The 125cc Class, Criterion Yamaha Portable Shade's Dylan Barker rode his screaming Yamaha YZ 125 to a convincing class victory, and an incredible 3rd overall, whilst his team-mate Angus Coetzee placed his Yamaha YZ 125 into a well deserved second in class and fourth place overall.

Ryan von Munster completed the Yamaha domination of the top five overall positions by racing his Yamaha YZ 250 F into third place in the Open Class and 5th overall.

In the 85cc Senior class, Manhand Shimwells Yamaha rider, Dean Lindsay, completed Yamaha's domination of the three senior classes by taking a well deserved victory in that class.

In a race that was overwhelmed with mud and rain the youngsters had their work cut out for them as they raced in some of the toughest off road terrain in Southern Africa, but the skill of the riders, and the reliability and race prowess of their Yamaha race machines overcame these challenges to produce outstanding results for the Yamaha stable.

Yamaha very proudly accepted the Manufacturers Trophy for the event, and wish to thank and congratulate their riders for a sterling effort.
