Bullish start to 2013 for Nissan

Nissan South Africa has had an impressive start to 2013 with total sales of 4645 for Nissan/Infiniti. Nissan South Africa's cars and light commercial vehicles accounted for 10.1% of the industry's 45 776 January sales, Nissan registrations surging by 1429 units in a market that expanded by 18% compared to December.
Bullish start to 2013 for Nissan

Johan Kleynhans, Nissan South Africa's sales, marketing and aftersales director said: "We've entered 2013 full of confidence, and January's NAAMSA numbers suggest our bullish position isn't misguided. The industry as a whole had a strong month thanks in no small part to the Orange AfCon 2013 football tournament, but our sales are running well ahead of the industry and, along with our market share - which is the highest share in our current financial year - also exceeded our targets."

    A strong showing

The Nissan NP200 continued to make a strong showing in the half-tonner segment with sales of 1553 units, while the market also continues to appreciate the value proposition that the NP300 one-tonner represents. The Micra, at 598 units, enjoyed significant growth too. The Nissan Juke - a finalist in the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists' Car of The Year Competition - had its best month in the current financial year and sold in numbers similar to when it was first launched.
