Limited edition to celebrate Bantam's 25th
“South African consumers were first introduced to the Ford Bantam in 1983,” says Ford Marketing Manager, Ben Pillay. “Twenty-five years later the Bantam is still going strong, which is why we thought it fitting to celebrate with a limited edition model.”
Purpose-designed to suit local operating environments the pick-up will be available in both 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre configurations and because of its high local content, parts will be freely available and competitively priced.
Features of the Montana include front fog lamps, stainless steel side sill protectors and sports bar, Montana branded tonneau cover and special side and tailgate decals.
The Montana has the same front wheel drive as the Bantam and the same RoCam engines. The 1.3-litre produces 55kW and 110Nm, and the 1.6-litre makes 70kW and 137Nm.
The Montana has the same 1 430mm load-box as the Bantam, which is the widest in its class. It has a payload of 650kgs and a ground clearance of 195mm.
The combination of practicality and car-like comfort is what makes the Bantam so popular and this, plus the exclusiveness of the Montana, will ensure that none of the limited editions will stand around gathering dust on showroom floors.
