Getting dirty in SA
For the first time, a motorcycle spectacular of this scale and magnitude will unleash itself upon local audiences. Combining the world's top freestyle motocross, quad bike, minibike and snowmobile athletes with an arena-packing production that has wowed international audiences, should awe even the uninitiated.
SA's two best Freestyle MX riders, “Sick” Nick de Wit and Alastair Sayer, fresh off their successes at the Dubai Xgames, where Sayer became the first African to win an Xgames medal, will look to step it up a notch on their home turf and challenge some of the biggest names in the action sports industry.
An additional two wild card spots are up for grabs for local FMX hotshots and Brendan Potter, Tim Boshoff, Stuart Couper, Juan du Plooy, Shaun Blaauw, Werner “Flying Dutchman” van der Merwe and “Flyin” Ryan Ronacher will be vying for them.
In addition, invitations for the “Best whip” and “Step-up” (which is like high jump on a dirt bike) segments of the night's action will be extended to the biggest names in local motocross, enduro, supermoto and trials.
The international athlete contingent, comprising Xgames, FIM World Championship, Night of the Jumps and Red Bull Xfighters gold medallists - will be revealed in stages. Every two weeks a new name will be unveiled.
