GNT subcontracts its fleet maintenance to Scania
Great North Transport (GNT) services transports 58 million passengers every year, using 297 routes, from 11 depots across South Africa, and clocking a total of 66 million kilometres. According to a Marketwire.comreport, Philippe Buyst, GNT's acting chief executive officer, the company makes sure that its fleet of 541 buses is not older then 10 years. "Our fleet's average age at present is five years," he told Marketwire.com.

In addition to GNT's already well developed network of routes, the company is planning to develop its routes and services even further, travelling across the borders of South Africa, going into Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Zambia. It is also looking at becoming involved in the luxury and semi-luxury coach travel market.
