Mhlaluka has been the recipient and driving force behind a number of accolades received and achievements reached by Transnet Port Terminals’ Eastern Cape region. According to his colleagues at Transnet Port Terminals (TPT), Mhlaluka is an integral part of the management team at TPT and embodies the essence of what a great leader entails. Kevin Hustler, CEO of Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber, was one of the first to congratulate Mhlaluka on his award. “The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber wishes to sincerely congratulate Siya Mhlaluka on his prestigious Titans Award."

The Titans Building Nations Awards are coordinated by Celebrating Excellence in Organisations (CEO) and the recognition process is a stringent one, with a four tier judging process and auditing done by KPMG to ensure that their processes are equitably applied to all participants. The Johannesburg event saw the winners at country and regional level announced – with the regional winners automatically becoming finalists in the continental awards. According to the chief executive for CEO, Annelize Wepener, the judging panels commented on the exceptional standard of nominees saying, “this year was the best year with phenomenal leadership qualities. The leaders recognized today are special and unique.”

After receiving his reward Siya Mhlaluka added, “I am humbled to have been honored with this prestigious award. I do believe that this award also belongs to my entire Eastern Cape and Transnet Port Terminals team who constantly demonstrate their commitment and dedication to excellence and upholding the very values of innovation and superior service delivery that, as a business, we strive for. This is a milestone for the organisation and I am honoured to extend my appreciation and recognition to all colleagues who played a role in what we have achieved as a team.”

Siya, in his role as GM of the Eastern Cape, has demonstrated time and time again his commitment to this role within TPT to ensure that the Eastern Cape region contributes significantly to the strengthening of the economy and growth of business in the region.
