Ahmed flays foreign media over Nigeria's image
The governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Wahab Oba, said: "For too long, the bad side of Africa has been over-projected in the international media."
The governor, who stressed that Nigeria was neither a failed state nor about to be one, spoke when he received in audience at Government House, Ilorin, the crew of an international film, Monkey Men, being shot in the Kwara State capital.
Ahmed, who acknowledged the multifaceted challenges facing the country, said the challenges can be surmounted by building confidence in Nigerians rather than creating a state of helplessness.
He noted that the establishment of a film village at the Kwara State University, Malete, was to boost the development of art and entertainment industry in the country and bridge the information gap about Nigeria in the developed world.
